Schnitzler, quant \u00e0 lui, na pas b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de la m\u00eame bienveillance, car son p\u00e8re, m\u00e9decin laryngologiste, attend de son fils quil embrasse \u00e9galement la carri\u00e8re m\u00e9dicale. Il a donc \u00e9tudi\u00e9 la m\u00e9decine, se sp\u00e9cialisant aussi dans le domaine de la laryngologie. Il a m\u00eame publi\u00e9 quelques articles m\u00e9dicaux dans la revue Internationale Klinische Rundschau, fond\u00e9e en 1887 par son p\u00e8re Johann Schnitzler.
